January 31st

A beautiful sunny Tuesday in San Diego and Heartfelt Helpings was happy to be of service to our most vulnerable homeless population that gather at the Neil Good Day Center. Everyone appreciated the delicious and nutritious meals and the beautifully decorated lunch bags.  The Hedenkamp Elementary School and Mrs. Convento's 2nd grade class continues to create a special lunch bag - a gift that brings joy and hope!

It has been very cold, wet and windy in downtown San Diego, but Heartfelt Helpings is there every Tuesday to be of service our most vulnerable homeless population that gather at the Neil Good Day Center. Everyone was very grateful for the delicious and nutritious meals and the beautifully decorated bags, courtesy of the Hedenkamp Elementary School and Mrs. Convento's 2nd grade class.  Each and every lunch bag is a special gift that brings joy and hope!

Heartfelt Helpings is always grateful for the opportunity to be of service on the third Sunday of every month a at Connections Housing, in Downtown San Diego, but we do not do it alone!  Thanks to Walmart and Vons for their ongoing food donations to help make these meal services nutritious and delicious. 


A special thank you to Dave, Laney, Joe and Shawn for taking time out of their busy weekends to help prepare a hearty meal of "melt in your mouth barbecue ribs", rice pilaf, mixed green salad, garlic bread and assorted cakes for dessert!  Thank you to Gabriel who came down to help serve.  The meal was a greatly appreciated by the residents at Connections Housing. "This is the best meal that I have had in months!" shared one grateful meal recipient.

A family that gives together, grows together! It is always wonderful when a Heartfelt Helpings volunteer creates an opportunity for their entire family to be of service.  A special thank you to Karen, her husband and children who made this a very special Sunday meal service for the homeless youth that participate in the Doors of Change Taking Music & Art to the Streets Program.  The baked meatballs and pasta, salad, rolls, delicious desserts and next day sandwiches were appreciated by all!

It is through the generosity of many of our loving sponsors and volunteers that Heartfelt Helpings is able to be of service to the homeless youth that participate in the Doors of Change Taking Music & Art to the Streets Program.  New Years Day was a special meal service with a hearty chili, cornbread and yummy desserts.  Everyone also enjoyed receiving new backpacks, warm gloves, hats and scarves.  "Thank you so much!  We love all that you do for us!", shared one grateful young man.
